Language is primarily a system that speakers use to make meaning. When there no available term refer new phenomenon or communicate an idea then their linguistic creativity create terms. This especially witnessed in the political arena during campaign period. Using multi-modal approach, this study analysed nonce formations were used as tool 2022 general elections Kenya. The purposively selected from WhatsApp platforms supporters of candidates using for choice against candidate they did not want elect. Only words/phrases and images coined ideals selected. data was approach transitivity analysis based on Systemic Functional Grammar. findings research indicate prominent before took place. contributes theory neologisms provides material discourse register.
